Note: Manchester Airport has 3 terminals:

Terminal 1: airlines include Air Canada, Iberia, Lufthansa, Olympic and SAS.

Terminal 2: for Air France, Continental, Delta, US Airways and Virgin Atlantic flights.

Terminal 3: is for British Airways flights plus all UK Domestic flights. American Airlines, Finnair and LOT Polish also use T3.

Manchester Airport SMS Alerts

If you are due to meet someone arriving on a flight at Manchester Airport then you may want to consider signing up to the SMS Alert system.

This simple to use service means that flight information can be delivered direct to your mobile phone or a PDA with a SIM card installed. The total cost for receiving the specified flight information should not exceed £1.00.

How to use the service:

1. Send the message "FLIGHT" followed by the flight number to 83236.E.G. For flight ABC1234 send "FLIGHT ABC1234" Note the space before the flight number. Ensure the flight is scheduled to arrive or depart 2 hours before and 12 hours after you send the message.

2. To receive messages, ensure your phone is turned on, you have a signal and there is space on your phone for further messages.

The 5 possible messages for arriving flights at Manchester Airport:

o An initial confirmation message
o A status message 2 hours before scheduled landing time (if available)
o A message confirming that a flight is on its final approach to Manchester Airport
o A message confirming that the flight has landed
o A message when the passengers' bags are available in the airport's baggage hall
