Passengers evacuated after fire alarm
04.09.09
Around 500 passengers were evacuated from Manchester Airport yesterday after a fire alarm sounded on Pier B of Terminal One at 07:50. The passengers, waiting from gates 1 to 15, were evacuated back into the departure lounge or out on to the tarmac after what turned out to be a false alarm.
The passengers were allowed back into the pier after around 10 minutes when the fire alarm was found to be faulty. The incident caused minimal disruption to flights, an airport spokeswoman said.
