Two emergency landings
04.11.09
Two Thomas Cook holiday jets, each with over 200 passenger on board, were forced to make emergency landings at Manchester Airport yesterday morning after warning faults were reported. The problems started when the 09:18 Thomas Cook flight TCX452K from Glasgow to Tenerife was diverted to Manchester with an air pressure problem in the cabin.
Then a second Thomas Cook jet forced to divert to the airport. Flight TCX355K had set off from Leeds Bradford Airport at 10:20 bound for the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. It reported an engine fault. Both planes had landed safely by 10:35 and were met on the runway by a fleet of fire and emergency service crews.
Passengers were taken from the planes normally and escorted to the terminal. Both planes were later able to continue their journeys.
