Delta axe New York flights
08.09.09
Delta are to axe their flights between Manchester Airport and New York from January 8, 2010. The decision leaves just Continental Airlines and Pakistan International Airlines operating flights between the two cities. Manchester Airport bosses are confident Delta will return next Summer.
The decision follows Ryanair's announcement that it will pull out of Manchester and BMI axing long-haul flights to Chicago, Las Vegas, Antigua and Barbados. Smaller airports with lower fees are more attractive for budget airlines and transatlantic flights are increasingly retreating to Heathrow.
