Airport boss to leave
13.07.10
The managing director of Manchester Airport is to leave, less than a month after he failed to land a top job with the airport's parent, the Manchester Evening News reports. Andrew Cornish, 44, is stepping down after almost 5 years with Manchester Airports Group.
Mr Cornish is 'regarded as well-liked by his colleagues' but the newspaper reports he was overlooked for the position of MAG chief executive to succeed retiring boss Geoff Muirhead. He is to become chief executive at MDL, Europe's largest owner and operator of marinas, based in Southampton. He denied his departure was linked to the decision to appoint United Utilities' Charlie Cornish to the top post at MAG.
