Couple married on concorde
15.03.08
A bride said that she was on 'cloud nine' after tying the knot on Concorde at Manchester Airport this week. Accountant Sarah Whittall, 30, dreamed of flying on the luxury supersonic plane, but settled for a wedding on board instead. She married personal trainer Tony Henshall, 36, in the aircraft's first class cabin.
The new Mrs Hensall said: ‘I am absolutely thrilled. I always dreamed I would fly on Concorde, but when it was grounded I thought my chances were over. Having our wedding on board more than makes up for that. I felt like I was floating on air as I walked down the aisle, and was relieved that Tony didn't try to get away down the escape slide!’
Planes have been a life-long passion for Sarah, a former member of the air cadets at 13 and current RAF Volunteer Reserve officer. The happy couple, from Northwich, have jetted off to Mexico for their honeymoon.
