Delays website predicts Easter holiday hell
16.03.08
Holidaymakers flying off for an Easter break face even longer airport queues at security and passport control than last year, according to ukairportdelays.co.uk. The website says time spent clearing some security controls has more than doubled in the past year and trebled at some airports.
Passengers posting feedback the website have ranked Manchester Airport worst for hold-ups, taking 23 minutes to clear security and 50 minutes for passport control. East Midlands Airport was second worst and Heathrow third.
A spokesman for the website said: ‘The delays, which have been created by management inefficiency and insufficient staff, are horrendous.’ It says that the worst airport delays in minutes for security / passports are: Manchester 23/50, East Midlands 45/19, Heathrow 47/15, Liverpool 35/15, Birmingham 40/3, Stansted 21/22 and Gatwick 22/17.
