A Manchester Airport bound holiday flight had to be diverted to France yesterday after a couple began a drunken brawl at 32,000ft, the Manchester Evening News reports. The pair had to be separated by cabin crew before the captain of the Thomas Cook flight diverted to Lyon, where the couple were removed from the plane and arrested.
The rest of the passengers arrived back in Manchester on the flight from Egypt 3 hours late. One told the newspaper that the journey was `absolute torture'. She said: ‘It was very frightening. The couple were very drunk. They shouldn't have been allowed on board.’
‘It was horrific. The couple started arguing and then they were fighting. I've never heard or seen anything like it. They moved the woman and then she was sick all over the place.’
