New MAG boss confirmed

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has announced the appointment of Charlie Cornish as its new CEO from October 1. He will replace Geoff Muirhead, who is retiring at the end of September after 22 years with the UK airports operator. The appointment wad previously reported by the Manchester Evening News, and was confirmed today.
Mr Cornish, who is 50 years old, is a main board director at United Utilities, as well as United Solutions managing director. He has held senior positions with companies including Thames Water, NHS Scotland and Associated British Foods. His early career included positions in British Aerospace, Plessey Telecomms and Trusthouse Forte.
MAG chairman Mike Davies said: ‘Charlie brings a broad range of skills and experience to the role. In addition to in-depth board and general management background, he has a combination of operational, strategic and international experience. I look forward to working with him on growing the Manchester Airports Group.'
