Flybe flight emergency
17.12.09
A Flybe plane made a full emergency landing at Manchester Airport yesterday after a warning light alerted the captain to smoke in the cockpit. The Bombardier Q400 Flybe aircraft was en route from Gatwick Airport to the Isle of Man when it was diverted to Manchester.
The 45 passengers were forced to leave the plane via the emergency chutes after the emergency landing. An airport spokesman said no-one was injured. The passengers stayed overnight at a Manchester Airport hotel and are expected to complete their journey today.
The likely cause of the incident was a minor technical fault, a Flybe spokeswoman said.
