Snow closes airport

Both Birmingham and Manchester airports were closed this morning following fresh snowfall. Manchester Airport was shut at around 07:00 due to concerns about the condition of the runway after several inches of snow fell overnight.
Some flights from the East Midlands were also delayed this morning, and Leeds Bradford Airport was closed for a period. The airports reopened during the morning, with some flights delayed or diverted.
