27.01.10
Thirty passengers were evacuated from a Flybe plane on to the runway at Manchester Airport yesterday, after the plane made an emergency landing. No one was injured in the incident.
Passengers on a Flybe flight from Birmingham to Aberdeen reported smelling smoke, prompting the pilot to divert to Manchester and make a emergency landing at 08:05 yesterday. Operations at the airport were suspended for 15 minutes whilst the passengers were evacuated from the plane and the fire service inspected.
After the firemen could not find a fault with the plane, the airport returned to normal operations. The passengers continued their journey on a replacement plane.
