Airport to launch online ‘travel extras’ store
29.04.10
Manchester Airport today announced a new element to its commercial services - an online 'Travel Extras Store'. The UK travel extras market - including airport parking, hotels and pay-as-you-go lounges - is worth around £5 billion, and the airport believes it can generate significant revenues from the sector - not that it isn't already doing this.
Four out of five passengers using the airport buy some sort of extra once they have booked holidays or flights, and the airport already offers car parking via its website. The first phase of the launch includes a new airport lounge, the opportunity to book private jet flights and overseas assistance packages via exclusive partnership deals.
More products are planned for the store later in the year as the airport works towards offering 'a comprehensive one-stop solution for travellers.' This will include car hire and hotels, flights, holidays and ‘park, stay and fly’ airport hotel packages.
